John Takes The Wheel...

Scallop Days committee chairperson Mike Bartlett has handed the role over to John Soles in preparation of this summer’s event, Aug. 4 – 8.

Soles said he is a little nervous to take over, as chairperson and Mike Bartlett will remain on the committee as co-chair.

“I did logistical work last year for Relay for Life and I’m president of DC Riders, but this is quite a step up,” said Soles.

“The big hope right now is to take the platform we have for Scallop Days and not to make a lot of changes. We just want to build on what we’ve got and I think we’ve got a good solid foundation now.”

He said the focus would be to make this summer’s event bigger, especially the fireworks.

“We’d like the grand finale to have people walk away saying ‘you should have been in Digby’,” said Soles.

He expects the car show to have 250 to 300 entries, with perhaps participation from some antique car clubs as well.

The committee will meet Feb. 24 to get the ball rolling, said Soles.

Bowling was a Blast!

Our 'outings' test the boundaries of social acceptance. Its not that we are bikers...its just that we are loud! No matter the activity...the Riders sure know how to be seen and heard!

You haven't been bowling until you've tried it with this crowd! No need for experience, we'll make fun of you either way!

The Riders had a laugh or two at Wilson's on Saturday Night!
There were a few 'crashes' that we won't let anyone forget anytime soon!
